BERRY PROVINCE INFORMATION

Whether looking for a stop over or a place to stay for a holiday our Chateau is perfectly located to enjoy all that the Cher Valley has to offer. The Chateau is situated in the picture postcard village of Charly, where weeping willows line the stream running through the centre of the village. Walks around the Chateau grounds or in the area are a great way to slow down and relax. The village has a beautiful 12th century Church with a painted ceiling which has been restored to its original glory.

At the Chateau

We have a beautiful private swimming pool in the grounds of our Chateau.  It is situated in the Orchard, a stone walled area, with many fruit trees; a beautiful setting for lounging around the pool and enjoying the sunshine.

In the Region

The interesting medieval town of Bourges, is almost the geographical centre of France – the, the Gothic Cathedral of Saint Etienne, begun at the end of the twelfth century, is listed as a World Heritage Site. It is considered the earliest example of the high gothic style of the thirteenth century. http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/63

The town is filled with a wealth of restaurants, bars and cafes lining its cobbled and winding streets. 'Son et Lumiere' is a free lights and music show, which you can wander round on a warm summer evening and is definitely worth a visit.

More information on Bourges and the region is available at the Bourges Tourist office or The Berry Regions Tourist Office
